Welcome to the EnCor UF Store

EnCor Biotechnology Inc. is a company spun off from the University of Florida that makes high-quality antibodies sold through many vendors including Abcam, Biotechne/Novus, EMD-Millipore, Life Technologies/Invitrogen, Santa Cruz, Sigma-Aldrich, VWR and many other companies. So, you may have been buying antibodies made by EnCor for several years without realizing it. If so, you can now save valuable grant money by buying direct from the EnCor UF Store at a fraction of the cost (and no shipping costs). In addition, while the large, commercial vendors know very little about how each antibody was made and how they work in practice, as the original manufacturer, EnCor is able to provide unparalleled technical information and assistance with their products. In sum, we sell only high-quality reagents that provide reproducible results and data, which survive rigorous peer review.

LOCATION: The EnCor UF Store is located in the UF ICBR Monoclonal Antibody (MA) Core in the Cancer Genetics Research Complex (CGRC, Room 171, M-F 8-5pm) and has commercially sized aliquots of the mouse monoclonal antibodies listed below available for immediate purchase.

ORDERS: The standard EnCor UF Store price is $200 for 100µg of purified antibody and no shipping charge. To order, simply add the desired products from the links below to your shopping cart. To waive the automatic shipping fee, use coupon code UFICBR and checkout. Once complete, just bring your receipt to ICBR staff in the ICBR MA Core when you pick up your samples.

If you want an EnCor antibody not offered via the EnCor Store, you can still save shipping by ordering and picking it up yourself at EnCor! Please order on-line through our website https://encorbio.com or email admin@encorbio.com or call 352 372 7022 or fax 352 372 7066.

TEST SAMPLES: Small samples of these antibodies are available in the store upon request, but please only take one if you intend to make serious use of it. Please contact ICBR staff or admin@encorbio.com if you have any questions regarding samples.

β-tubulin Antibody MCA-1B12     A β-tubulin antibody which reliably reveals microtubules in cells, in tissues, in IF, IHC, ICC and binds β-tubulin for use as a western blotting standard. A much less expensive alternate to the Sigma-Aldrich tubulin monoclonal antibody DM1A.

Pan-Actin Antibody MCA-5J11     Actin antibody which we have shown binds to all six mammalian actin gene products. Binds to and reveals actin filaments in cells and tissues and is an excellent western blotting standard all kinds of mammalian tissue and cell extract.

NeuN/FOX3 Antibody MCA-1B7     Epitope mapped antibody to NeuN/FOX3- a marker of most neuronal cell types which also works on western blots. A cheaper and superior alternative to the original EMD-Millipore NeuN antibody A66 and recognizes the exact same epitope within the NeuN/FOX3 molecule.

GAPDH Antibody MCA-1D4     Epitope mapped antibody to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, the prototypical “house keeping” protein used as a western blotting standard, antibody also works in IF. Already widely used as a blotting standard in several UF labs, ask Lucia Notterpek.

Vimentin Antibody MCA-2A52     Epitope mapped antibody to vimentin, the intermediate filament protein of many cell lines and tissues, including endothelia and developing CNS cells. Also a good western blotting standard for cells lines on most mammals but not mouse.

GFAP Antibody MCA-5C10     Epitope mapped antibody to glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) an excellent marker of astrocytes and certain other glia, also neuronal stem cells. Works well on western blots, on cells in culture, on ICC and IHC of tissues and on a wide range of mammalian species.

TDP43 Antibody MCA-3H8     Epitope mapped antibody to TDP43- marker of subset of cells in healthy CNS tissue and inclusions in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, frontotemporal dementia and other CNS diseases. The epitope is in the C-terminal of the molecule in a region typically found in pathological inclusions and is conserved in mammalian species.

α-synuclein Antibody MCA-2A7     Epitope mapped antibody to α-synuclein. A marker of synaptic regions in culture and in tissues and inclusions in Parkinson’s and other CNS diseases. Also works well as an ELISA capture reagent.

CNPase Antibody MCA-1H10     Antibody to 2′,3′-CNPase- a robust cytoplasmic enzyme marker of oligodendrocytes and their myelin sheaths in cell culture and sections.

HSP60 Antibody MCA-1C7     Antibody to heat shock protein 60 (HSP60)- an excellent marker of mitochondria and a good western blotting standard.

Myelin Basic Protein Antibody MCA-7G7     Anti-myelin basic protein (MBP) antibody. Binds to all four CNS isotypes of human and rodent MBP . The antibody is a marker of oligodendrocytes and myelin sheaths  in cell culture and myelin sheaths in sections.

cFOS Antibody MCA-2H2     Antibody to the c-FOS protein, which is the prototypic product of an “immediate early” gene. Expression of c-FOS, detected with an antibody like this one, can be used to identify activated cells in cell culture and in sections of CNS tissues.
