Recombinant Full Length Human MAP2D Protein Cat# Prot-r-MAP2D
Description
Microtubule associated protein 2 (MAP2) is a major protein of neurons concentrated in dendrites and perikarya but absent from axons. A single mammalian MAP2 gene generates multiple lower molecular weight forms usually named MAP2A, MAP2B, MAP2C and MAP2D. MAP2D is the second smallest variant and is expressed early in neuronal development. We have expressed the full length human MAP2D sequence based on the human sequence reported in NP_001034627.1.

The sequence is from REFSEQ XP_006712595. This is one of the longer but still low molecular weight transcripts of the human MAP2 gene, lacking projection domain sequence but including all 4 of the C-terminal microtubule binding domains. The construct was expressed in pET29a and has a few N and C-terminal amino acids derived from the vector, including a C-terminal His-tag.
This is the second shortest transcript of the human MAP2 gene, including 4 of the C-terminal microtubule binding domains. The sequence is identical to that in NP_001034627.1. The construct was expressed in pET29a and has a few N and C-terminal amino acids derived from the vector, including a C-terminal His-tag. This sequence includes an S-tag affinity peptide (red), an enterokinase cleavage site (green) and the His tag (underlined).
